University with a Baby – Claire’s Story

Hi Everyone,

So don’t really know where to start..but I suppose like most of you all, I’ve been following Alex since she was pregnant with Milo because I was pregnant at the same time and it was nice to follow someone at the same sort of stage as you.

I’ll introduce myself

My name is Claire and I’m a wife and a mother of 3 children who are aged 9,4 and 16months. I used to be a hairdresser but over the last few years became interested in working with younger children and started to volunteer at my local school. I decided to take the plunge and change career and after a few qualifications down, decided to do a Early Years Foundation degree at Kingston university. I only made this decision literally 3 weeks ago when I dropped in to my local college. I really never thought I would be able to get on a course like that but after doing clearing and applying they accepted me!! I was so happy…I’ve always wanted to further my career and I love learning but have never really been given the chance.

I had my first lesson last Tuesday and have already met some lovely ladies in my class, and I know we will all help each other alot!

I’m excited to do it but I’m scared of juggling family life, work and other commitments with my assignment writing and specially all the reading!!!

I’m so ready to better myself not only for my children who are looking up to me but for my self! I will pass it and I’m so excited for my adventure!

Wish me luck 🙂

Claire xx
